Meet Our Coaches

Please see below for biographies of our coaching staff, more coaches will be added as they join the Complete Hockey Family.  Coaches availability to coach at our camps depends on their international schedule.

 
 
Neil Allan   Neil is our Director of Coaching. Neil is currently Head coach of Grove Menzieshill who play in National One and the EHL, he is also the Assistant Head Coach to the Scotland u21 Men's Squad, the Scotland Men's Development Squad and the Scotland Women's Indoor Squad  He designs and plans our camps and performance sessions. Neil has 20 years coaching experience at all levels from u8 to senior international level. Neil is an incredible technical skills coach, and take a full part coaching at all our camps and performance sessions.  Neil has been head coach of both the Scotland Boys u16 Squad, the Scotland u18 Boys Squad, and the Scottish Universities Men's Squad.  Neil was head of hockey at a prestigious boarding school in the UK for 9 years, and built a very competitive hockey programme.  Neil was awarded Scottish Hockey Coach of the year in 2011.

Graham Moodie   Graham is an ex international player with over 150 senior caps for Scotland and Great Britain. Graham in an Olympian who represented GB in the Athens Olympics.  Graham is currently the Head of Men's Performance Hockey at Edinburgh University, and the head coach of the Scotland u21 Men and Assistant Head Coach to the Scotland Senior men, and the GB u21 Elite Development Programme.  Graham has an incredible knowledge of hockey both from a tactical and technical aspect,

Graham Moodie

Graham is an ex international player with over 150 senior caps for Scotland and Great Britain. Graham in an Olympian who represented GB in the Athens Olympics.

Scott Sutherland   Scott Sutherland has represented Scotland at all levels, and is a Senior international both Outdoor and Indoor. Scott is the current Scotland u21 Drag Flicking and Penalty Corner Coach. Scott has designed and runs our Drag Flick sessions.  Scott currently plays domestically for Grange Hockey Club, he is an attacking midfield player.  Scott's specialist skills are elimination skills and drag flicking.

Scott Sutherland

Scott Sutherland has represented Scotland at all levels, and is a Senior international both Outdoor and Indoor. Scott is the current Scotland u21 Drag Flicking and Penalty Corner Coach. Scott has designed and runs our Drag Flick sessions.

Scott currently plays domestically for Grange Hockey Club, he is an attacking midfield player.

Scott's specialist skills are elimination skills and drag flicking.

 
Chris Grassick   Chris Grassick is the current captain of the Scotland Men's team, and a Great Britain International. He is one of the most talented players in Europe.  Chris has represented his country at every level.  Chris currently has over 100 Scotland caps and 27 GB caps, scoring 25 times. He captained Scotland at the Glasgow and Gold Coast Commonwealth games. He has played in European Championships at u18, u21 and senior level and competed in the World League for both Scotland and Great Britain.  Chris is an incredibly talented and powerful midfielder, he has incredible strength on the ball. Chris's specialist skills are eliminating players and passing.

Chris Grassick

Chris Grassick is the current captain of the Scotland Men's team, and a Great Britain International. He is one of the most talented players in Europe.

Chris has represented his country at every level.

Chris currently has over 100 Scotland caps and 27 GB caps, scoring 25 times. He captained Scotland at the Glasgow and Gold Coast Commonwealth games. He has played in European Championships at u18, u21 and senior level and competed in the World League for both Scotland and Great Britain.

Chris is an incredibly talented and powerful midfielder, he has incredible strength on the ball. Chris's specialist skills are eliminating players and passing.

Alan Forsyth   Alan Forsyth is currently a Scotland and Great Britain International. Alan is a centre-forward, and is one of if not the best goal-scorer in world hockey. Cameron Golden   Cameron is a current Scotland u21 and Senior International athlete, he is also a member of the GB Elite Development Squad.  Cameron has captained Scotland at u16 and u18 level, and plays for Grove Menzieshill.  Cameron has incredible individual elimination skills, and is lethal in the circle.  He is a phenomenal talent and one to watch as his career develops.

Robyn Collins   Robyn Collins has represented Scotland at u16, u18, u21 and Senior International level. Most recently Robyn represented Scotland at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.  Robyn has amassed 49 Senior International Caps and has scored 5 goals. Robyn is a tenacious and powerful defender who plays club hockey for Surbiton in the English Premier League, where she has won multiple titles.  Robyn’s specialist skills are 1-1 defending, overheads and drag flicking

Robyn Collins has represented Scotland at u16, u18, u21 and Senior International level. Most recently Robyn represented Scotland at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

Robyn has amassed 49 Senior International Caps and has scored 5 goals. Robyn is a tenacious and powerful defender who plays club hockey for Surbiton in the English Premier League, where she has won multiple titles.

Robbie Shepherdson   Robbie has represented Scotland at all levels, and is currently a Scotland Senior International.  Robbie currently plays for Grange in Scottish National Division One', having played for and captained Loughborough University. Robbie is a fantastic defender, who has huge composure on the ball.

Aidan Mcquade   Aidan has represented Scotland at all levels and is in the GB Elite Development Squad, playing in two u18 and one u21 European Championships. Aidan made his senior International debut at the age of 18 in January 2018 winning 3 caps in a 5 nation’s tournament.  Aidan plays his domestic hockey for Grove Menzieshill, and will feature in the EHL in 2019.  Aidan is talented full back, who is calm under pressure. His specialist skills are passing and drag flicking.

Aidan Mcquade

Aidan has represented Scotland at all levels and is in the GB Elite Development Squad, playing in two u18 and one u21 European Championships. Aidan made his senior International debut at the age of 18 in January 2018 winning 3 caps in a 5 nation’s tournament.

Aidan plays his domestic hockey for Grove Menzieshill, and will feature in the EHL in 2019.

Aidan is talented full back, who is calm under pressure. His specialist skills are passing and drag flicking.

 
Joe Waterston   Joe Waterston is a current Scotland u21 International, and plays domestically for Beeston in the English Premier League. Joe previously played for Grange, where he won National Division 1, the Scottish Cup and the European Trophy.  Joe has represented Scotland at u16, u18 and u21 level, captaining his country at the u16 World Youth Tournament in The Hague. Joe has played in 2 u18 and one u21 European Championships.  Joe is an attacking midfield player, who has exquisite elimination skills, his 3D skills are exceptional.

Joe Waterston

Joe Waterston is a current Scotland u21 International, and plays domestically for Beeston in the English Premier League. Joe previously played for Grange, where he won National Division 1, the Scottish Cup and the European Trophy.

Joe has represented Scotland at u16, u18 and u21 level, captaining his country at the u16 World Youth Tournament in The Hague. Joe has played in 2 u18 and one u21 European Championships.

Joe is an attacking midfield player, who has exquisite elimination skills, his 3D skills are exceptional.

Duncan Riddell   Duncan Riddell has represented Scotland at u16, u18, u21 and Senior International level. He played in the recent Gold Coast Commonwealth games.  Domestically Duncan plays in the English Premier League for Reading, winning the National Cup in 2018.  Duncan plays Half back for his country, and his specialist skills are passing and eliminating players.

Domestically Duncan plays in the English Premier League for Reading, winning the National Cup in 2018.

Joe McConnell   Joe is a current Senior International, having represented Scotland at all levels and captaining Scotland at u18 and u21 level.    Joe plays half back, and has great 1v1 defensive skills, he has a fantastic range of passing, and is composed on the ball under pressure.

Rob Harwood   Rob Harwood is a current u21 and Senior International. Rob made his debut for Scotland in January 2018 and was subsequently selected for the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. He scored in the opening game against South Africa, and followed this with a goal against the world's number 1 side Australia.  Rob cites Graham Moodie as the best coach he has ever worked with.  Rob plays in Scotland for Western Wildcats. He is an exciting forward, who is lethal in the circle. His specialist skills are deflections and goal scoring.

Rob Harwood

Rob Harwood is a current u21 and Senior International. Rob made his debut for Scotland in January 2018 and was subsequently selected for the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. He scored in the opening game against South Africa, and followed this with a goal against the world's number 1 side Australia.

Domestically Anna plays for Clydesdale Western, in the Scottish top division. She represented Clydesdale Western in the European Club Championships at Peffermill in 2018.  Anna is a very composed defender who has very strong close control and elimination skills, she s exceptional at 1-2-1 defence.

Anna is a member of the Scotland u21 squad, she has also been capped at u16 and u18 level. Anna captained Scotland at the u18 European Championships in Glasgow in 2016.

Domestically Anna plays for Clydesdale Western, in the Scottish top division. She represented Clydesdale Western in the European Club Championships at Peffermill in 2018.

Anna is a very composed defender who has very strong close control and elimination skills, she s exceptional at 1-2-1 defence.

Ciaran Crawford   Ciaran has played for Scotland at u16, 18 and 2 level, and has been a member of the Scotland Senior Squad.  He has played domestically for Clydesdale, Grove Menzieshill and Groningen in Holland.  He is currently and Assistant Coach for the Scotland u18 men , and Head Coach of Clydesdale in National Division One.

Luke Cranney   Luke is a current Senior Scotland International and plays for Grove Menzieshill. Luke has incredible speed and lightning quick hands.  He has a fantastic ability on his reverse stick, and has shown himself to be a world class goal scorer.

Jamie Golden   Jamie is a a current Scotland u21 International. He is a powerful and composed midfield player. Jamie has great vision on the pitch, and has incredible 1v1 defensive skills.  He plays for Grove Menzieshill in National Division One and the EHL.
